In January 2020, Jordi Garcia Rodriguez was about to film the final part of his documentary, ‘NON-CITIZENS’, in Berlin - Germany, and I joined the brilliant crew to document the behind the scenes. These photographs are the result of this journey.
The documentary
‘NON-CITIZENS’ tells the story of the ones waiting in the purgatory where hundreds of immigrants from Central Africa are fighting for survival ― giving voice to their hopes and fears. This waiting room is not comfortable: dark nights in collapsing, abandoned factories, meals shared in crumbling caverns.
This unusual documentary contrasts the needs of people in Africa with the abstract, philosophical concerns of a European woman in Berlin. Reality and fiction. Physical and psychological scars.
Jordi Garcia Rodriguez is an autodidact filmmaker, journalist and storyteller. Enthusiastic about world cultures and telling stories through the medium of film, he travels the world and creates informative and artistic videos for various clients and as a form of self-expression.
His goal is to give audiences access to realities they have never lived, whether close to home or far from it.
